Welcome! I’m Heather Hudgeon a UX/UI Designer & Developer:

Welcome to my Adventures in Geekery

Design has always been the part of this field that feels most natural to me, and I’m equally motivated by making sure the things I build work clearly and reliably. I’m drawn to the idea that thoughtful design and solid development go hand in hand, and I enjoy shaping information into experiences that feel approachable, purposeful, and easy to navigate.

Creating user-friendly websites is central to how I work. I often ask my dad to test what I build to make sure it’s clear and usable for people of different ages and levels of technical comfort. Seeing how small decisions can either support or frustrate a user has strengthened my commitment to designing and developing experiences that feel welcoming, accessible, and intuitive.

As a developer who cares deeply about design, I enjoy working with HTML and CSS and continuing to grow my skills in JavaScript while exploring better ways to build thoughtful, functional interfaces. I find real satisfaction in solving problems, refining details, and creating experiences that feel polished without losing a sense of warmth. Curiosity, empathy, and a desire to keep learning guide the way I approach my work.

Kind Words

I’ve worked with Heather on a number of projects, one of which was a website with member-portal access and payments for the restaurant industry. It required advanced programming functionality as well working closely with major brand partnerships in implementing high quality design with very little room for error.

Heather’s ability to capture requirements and build specifications from such details is unmatched. Her ability to listen deeply has allowed her to get to asking the right questions and thus solve the right problems.

Her aesthetic abilities in software design come from decades of pixel pushing. She doesn’t see the gist, she picks up on your slightest details and makes sure they come through.

Overall, working with her has always been a pleasure. Her ability to dive in deep and get serious work done while also making it joyful is something that makes her combination of knowledge work and emotional intelligence hard to match.

When it comes to creating user-friendly content with artfully designed layouts, Heather has understood the assignment. Her ability to seamlessly emphasize information using color, textures, and movement produces approachable and aesthetically pleasing web content.

Heather combines her technical and creative skills with effective communication, working with her clients to easily and efficiently achieve their vision. Can’t recommend enough.

Liz Becker Editor

For those of us who have a hard time navigating technology, Heather is truly a lifesaver. She brings a perfect balance of form, function, and play. Heather’s ability to fully grasp the client’s needs and desired outcome is excellent and demonstrated through her clear and accessible designs. They are professional but never boring.

From small details like color cohesion to font selection, you can tell how much care and consideration is put into her work. I often get overwhelmed with web navigation and how to organize all the content I’d like to share. Heather is great at distilling crucial components from clutter, all while preserving the integrity of content.

A fantastic designer who undoubtedly will bring any vision to its fullest potential!
